Best Practices
Last Update 10th October, 2024Using METRC
- Follow METRCs guidelines on creating tags and managing inventory.
- Make sure high cloud is installed and the correct licenses are registered and paid for. If you switch computers and log into metrc, you may need to download High Cloud if it is not already there. This will be free of you have already signed up.
- Dont transfer tags that were used in production or source tags. Always create a new tag fan item before sending it out (as you would a lab sample) because if you do, the entire history of that tag will disappear from your METRC and you are missing out on vital information. High Cloud cannot retrieve information from other peoples METRC and if you transfer out a production tag, that information is now in their METRC.
Barcodes

Search Bar
- Can be found X. Useful for sending to other people who can then find the tag you are referring to quickly. It will bring them to that tags location. Anyone you share the link with needs to have High Cloud downloaded, access to the same METRC Licenses and log in.
Production Report
This report is from the first conversion made. There is also a column for the quanitiy after considering any waste, entry errors and adjustments. It is best to comb through These adjustment to see what applies to your production numbers. This can be used for calculating the production numbers needed for state reporting but take into consideration the METRC Packages Adjustments Report. Useful for production planning, COGS, Inventory analysis, KPIs.
Consumption Report
This report is all cannabis product used in production or to create a new tag. This is useful for COGS calculations, production planning for materials needed and forecasting.
Items taken from harvests and not another tag are shown as the harvest ID with a category of Harvest
This only grabs active an inactive tags. Any tag that is later date moved to transferred will no longer appear on the report. Tags converted into identical item types will still show in this consumption report
